July 10, 2020 COALHURST SPRAY PARK
The Coalhurst Parks and Recreation Society and the Town of Coalhurst are excited to let you know the spray park is becoming a reality! As an added bonus, we are also pleased to announce that Town Council funded the construction of a shelter space to be completed at the same time. The shelter will include three outdoor showers, three washrooms, two change rooms and a covered picnic area complete with power.
You will notice fencing for the site has already gone up and construction began this morning with an expected completion in early August. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are uncertain of when we will be able to hold a grand opening celebration to open the park to the public but will keep you up to date.
We look forward to many years of our community getting to enjoy the park and would like to thank
the entire community, Town of Coalhurst staff, and Council for supporting this project.

This is the time of year when the Town is doing a lot of grading, mowing, street sweeping, etc., and using a lot of heavy equipment. Public Works staff have recently had issues with children running around this equipment, while in operation, thinking it’s a game and putting themselves in great danger. It is extremely hard for the operators to see these children playing around this big equipment and is making it difficult to get the work done.
Parents, we ask you please speak to your children and let them know the danger they are putting themselves in, and to stay away from all equipment when it is in use. With street sweeping starting, this is also a big concern for the operator who has also asked that parents speak to their children about the dangers of playing around this equipment while in use, and to keep away.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this serious matter.

Director of Public Works
