2024 Housing Needs Assessment
The Town of Coalhurst has produced a Housing Needs Assessment, which will be used to support the development of affordable and non-market housing in Coalhurst and contribute to provincial and federal grant applications. To read the report, please click HERE.
Residents planning to undertake a development project or build in the Town of Coalhurst must be aware of, and follow, certain requirements. They must also secure all necessary permits, prior to commencing a project.

Application procedure
In addition to the Development Permit application and fee, you are also required to submit:
- One copy of a site plan (please see the example)
- One set of construction drawings or blue prints.
The permit and plans must be submitted to the Town of Coalhurst Development Officer, at the Coalhurst Town Office, 100 – 51 Avenue, Coalhurst, where the appropriate fee will determined for the applicant to make payment.
