Mayor Lyndsay Montina was raised in Southern Alberta and lived in Lethbridge for 13 years before moving to Coalhurst with her husband, Tony, and son, Luca, in 2016. When they chose to build their life in Coalhurst, it was a return to small town life for Lyndsay and a homecoming for Tony, who was raised in the community.
Lyndsay has a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. In her day job, Lyndsay is an entrepreneur and is also a sessional instructor within the Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge.
Volunteerism, community service and lifelong learning are core values for Lyndsay. She has been involved in many boards, committees and volunteer roles throughout the years and continues to enjoy these opportunities. The most notable experience to date was her first board experience when she served as President of the YWCA Lethbridge and District. The mentorship and experience Lyndsay received while in this position has become foundational to her knowledge of governance.
Lyndsay has been honoured with the YWCA’s Woman of Distinction award, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s Rising Star award and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education’s Rising Star award. On top of this, she has led the development of numerous international award-winning programs.
Lyndsay can often be found laughing with friends and family, winding down by doing puzzles and listening to podcasts, travelling to New York with Tony, or enjoying a movie on the couch with Luca and their dog, Charlie.
