I was raised just outside of town, calling Coalhurst my home town
growing up. My husband, Jeff and I, moved back here to settle down and raise our family. We have two young children, Ryker and Cooper. Both of our children are happily attending Coalhurst Elementary School. We enjoy the quietness that comes from living in a small-town, yet is within close range of a large city. We love this community and have been actively involved since moving here. We value family time spent together and love to spend time outside, exploring Coalhurst and beyond.
My professional background is primarily in human services work, but my career path has been anything but linear. My experiences have permitted me to work in a variety of different settings – with individuals of all ages and develop and a broad skill set. I am understanding, compassionate and seek to create spaces that are not only welcoming and inclusive, but promote health and well-being. My experience growing up in small town Alberta has given me perspective and knowledge about different backgrounds in this area. I have a broad sense of our community’s strengths and a deep understanding of the issues that challenge our town.
I am a community builder and an ambassador for growth and development. I love to volunteer and have spent over a decade volunteering in Coalhurst in many roles. I truly I believe it is on each one of us to create the kind of community we want to live in and are proud to be a part of. I consider it a blessing to live here and an immense privilege to serve as a member of council for the 2021-2025 term. I am excited to watch this community continue to flourish and thrive and am thrilled about the future of our vibrant, Town of Coalhurst.
“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections every few years, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”
