When are Nomination papers filed?
Nomination papers can be filed with the Returning Officer between January 1 and noon on Monday, September 22 (Nomination Day). Nomination papers will only be accepted in person. Forms that are incomplete or contain errors will not be accepted.
Can someone else submit Nomination papers on my behalf?
Yes. However, the Nomination papers must be fully completed. The candidate must sign the form in front of a Commissioner for Oaths. No changes can be made to add information or correct errors unless the candidate is present.

When is election day?
General election day is Monday, October 20, 2025.
Where can I vote in Coalhurst?
Voting will be available at the Coalhurst Community Centre on October 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
What type of ID do I need to bring with me to vote?
In order to vote, you will need to provide proof of your name and home address with one form of official identification. The following types of ID meet the standard provincial requirement for one piece of identification:
- ID issued by a Canadian government that contains a photo of the elector and their name and current address
- Bank or credit card statement or personal cheque
- Correspondence issued by a school, college, or university
- Government cheque or cheque stub
- Income or Property Tax Assessment Notice
- Insurance policy or coverage card
- Letter from a public curator, public guardian, or public trustee
- Pension plan statement of benefits, contributions or participation
- Residential lease or mortgage statement
- Statement of government benefits
- Utility bill
- Vehicle ownership, registration, or insurance certificate
What if all my documents have a post office box address?
That’s ok. As long as the post office box address is in reasonable distance to the voting jurisdiction, it will be accepted.
