Continuing Stormwater Management Improvements
The Town of Coalhurst has been actively pursuing the completion a Stormwater Management Facility (SWMF) located to the north of 45th Avenue and west of Range Road 223 per the Stormwater Management Plan completed in 2017. The purpose of the SWMF is to allow for future stormwater improvements throughout the Town, and provide additional stormwater treatment prior to runoff entering the recently completed outfall to the Oldman River.
The proposed SWMF requires a significant amount of site grading and excavation works to be completed, including the removal of excavated materials from site. The Town has recently engaged two separate contractors to complete the excavation of the pond and remove excavated material from site. Over the next several months, residents can be expected to see the following:
-
- Topsoil stripping and stockpiling,
- Site Grading
- Excavation and stockpiling of material,
- Removal of material from site.
Please be aware that the scope of work being completed only represents a portion of the work required prior to the SWMF being operational. Additional work will be required to complete the SWMF and allow it to become operational in future years.
If there are any questions related to the work being undertaken please contact the office at 403-381-3033.
