Construction of a large diameter stormwater pipe from the new wetland facility towards the Sundance Ridge subdivision is set to begin.
This construction is the third phase of the Town of Coalhurst Storm Water Management Plan. The Stormwater Management Plan is a multi-phase project designed to protect Coalhurst property and infrastructure from flooding during large storms. It also collects, holds and treats stormwater prior to being released back into the river system.
Starting today (July 3), crews will begin mobilizing equipment to a staging area off 45th Avenue as part of the 45th Avenue Storm Trunk Capital Project. Please be courteous as large equipment and trucks move through the area.
Over the next couple days, initial construction activities along 45th Avenue will begin, including topsoil stripping and pre-cut work. While no speed reductions are currently in place, please follow all posted construction signage for your safety and the safety of workers.
Next week (July 7) : Pipe installation is scheduled to begin. At that time, speed reductions may be posted. Please watch for updated signage and remain alert for crews and equipment along the roadway.
No detours or lane reductions are currently planned over the next six weeks, but this may change as work progresses. Please stay tuned for updates.
Note: A full closure at the intersection of 45th Avenue and 6th Street is expected later in August. More details, including timelines and detour maps, will be shared as we get closer to that date.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure project!
