PURSUANT to sections 216.4, 606, 606.1 and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, the Council of the Town of Coalhurst in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider proposed Bylaw No. 462-25 being a new Land Use Bylaw.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Bylaw No. 462-25, a new Land Use Bylaw, is to update and establish standards and procedures regarding the use and development of land within the municipality; to add further clarification of development standards for uses within the town; establish new Land Use Districts with respective uses for designation of lands within the town; incorporate new development standards for uses within the Town; to amend the existing Land Use District Map to reflect land use redesignations and new districts; and to comply with the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, Chapter M-26, as amended.
THEREFORE, TAKE NOTICE THAT a Public Hearing to consider the proposed Bylaw No. 462-25 will be held in the Coalhurst Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT anyone wishing to address Council regarding the proposed Bylaw may provide written comments to the Chief Administrative Officer no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, for inclusion on the published agenda. Council may also hear from persons who did not submit written comments, during the Public Hearing. Members of the public may also provide input electronically via ZOOM Meetings during the Public Hearing, if they register with Legislative Services either in person at the Town office, via email at [email protected], or by telephone (403-381-3033) at least 24 hours in advance of the Public Hearing. The Public Hearing will also be live-streamed on the Coalhurst YouTube channel.
Copies of the proposed Bylaw are available to the public for viewing at the Coalhurst Town Office during normal business hours and copies will be provided at a cost. A copy of the proposed Bylaw is also available for viewing here.
