Construction of the intersection upgrades at Highway 25 and Township Road 9-2 has begun as of September 16th, to be completed in late October of this year (2019). The worksite will be active from Monday to Saturday during daylight hours.
Major work items for the intersection upgrades include excavation, grading and paving. During these phases, various traffic accommodation measures including lane closures and intermittent delays will be required, resulting in a disruption of traffic flow along Highway 25 and Township Road 9-2.
Drivers are encouraged to consider alternative routes to limit interaction with the active worksite throughout the course of construction. If an alternative route is not available to you, please exercise caution and remember to reduce your traveling speed through the construction zone for your, and the workers safety. We kindly remind you that Lethbridge Police Service has been, and will remain active within the work area to enforce the construction zone speed limit during work hours.
Once completed, the intersection of Highway 25 and Township Road 9-2 will provide an increased level of service to all users including the addition of acceleration and by-pass lanes to facilitate turning movements and intersection illumination.
We appreciate your patience and understanding on the matter, and look forward to the completion of the project in a timely manner.
