Elizabeth Christensen

  • Member of Council elected February 22, 2018 – Municipal By-Election.

Elizabeth Christensen was elected to her first term on Council at the February 2018 by-election. She spent most of her life in small town central Alberta until she moved to Lethbridge in 2006 to pursue her education. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities and political science. She chose Coalhurst in 2015 as the ideal small town to raise her three young children. Councillor Christensen loves the idea of urban farming and sustainable living. Her backyard boasts a large vegetable garden in the summers which she is learning to preserve to last through the winter. She has volunteered at the Coalhurst Youth Centre, on playground builds, and participates on the CES Parent Council and the Parks and Recreation Society board as a community member.  She is passionate about increasing voter turnout and community participation in municipal politics.
